BROOKINGS – The Brookings tennis team closed out the regular season on Tuesday with a 9-0 loss to Sioux Falls Christian.
Paige Foster was the closest Bobcat to winning as she lost her two games 7-5 and 6-3 in the No. 3 singles match. Sophie Tanner lost the No. 2 match 6-4 and 6-3. Camryn Vermeer fell 6-1 in both games in the No. 1 match.
Brea Tonsager lost 6-0 and 6-1 in the No. 4 match, Elle Schulte-Coplan lost 6-1 in both games in the No. 5 match and Anika Hooda fell 6-0 and 6-2 in the No. 6 match.
Vermeer and Tonsager lost in a nail biter in the No. 1 doubles match. They won the first game 6-4 and then fell in the second game 7-6 before falling 10-8 in the final game.
Foster and Tonsager lost 6-2 and 6-0 in the No. 2 doubles match. Schulte-Coplan lost 6-0 in both games in the No. 3 match.
Brookings finished the regular season with a record of 5-15. The Bobcats will participate in the Eastern South Dakota Conference Tournament next in Mitchell on Sept. 27.
