BROOKINGS – The Bobcat track and field teams made the most of a beautiful day as they played host to their Alumni Qualifier on Monday at the BHS Sports Complex.

Ellie Abraham led the ‘Cats with a top finish in the girls’ 800-meter run as she crossed in 2 minutes, 20.16 seconds while Emily Rystrom had a pair of second-place finishes – 200 (27.31) and 400 (1:00.05).

Ashley Anderson threw the discus 110 feet, 10 inches to place second while Kailee Bartels posted a mark of 32-2.25 to place second in the triple jump and then added a fourth-place finish in the 100 hurdles in 15.96 seconds.

In the 300 hurdles, Ellie Hegdahl finished third in 48.5 as Riley Weisbeck crossed in 51.34 for seventh.

Amanda Schulte put the shot 37-1 for third while Marah Dobrenski placed eighth with a heave of 31-3. Schulte also placed sixth in the discus with a throw of 97-11.

Four Bobcats placed in the long jump, led by Emma Hardin’s third-place leap of 15-10. Hannah Siemonsma was sixth (15-6.76), followed by Olivia Jorgenson in seventh (15-3.25) and Riley Weisbeck in eighth (15-0.5). Hardin also finished seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 30-3.5.

Kyle Tucker placed fourth in the high jump as she cleared 4-8 while Erin Hulberg matched that placing with a vault of 8-9 and Regan Weisbeck cleared 8-3 for sixth.

In the 100 dash, Grace Eggebrecht finished sixth in 13.13, and then added an eighth-place finish in the 100 hurdles in 16.28.

Ainsley Powers finished the 1,600 run in 5:33.26, which was good for sixth place.

The Bobcat relays had a solid day, finishing second in the 4x100 (52.2); 4x400 (4:19.49); and sprint medley (4:49.51), to go along with a fourth-place finish in the 4x800 (12:21.43) and a sixth-place time of 2:04.67 in the 4x200.

Dillon Jensen led the Bobcat boys with his second-place toss of 146-1 in the discus and a put of 45-8 in the shot for sixth. Tucker Christie finished eighth in the discus with a mark of 113-7.

Ayden Ellis cleared 11-3 for fourth in the pole vault, while Seth Swedlund went 5-10 in the high jump for sixth.

On the track, Kadin Loiseau clocked a 46.79 for eighth in the 300 hurdles.

The boys’ relay squads finished second in the sprint medley (4:14.16); fifth in the 4x400 (3:44.49); and sixth in both the 4x100 (46.96) and 4x200 (1:41.54).

The Bobcats are scheduled to compete in the Harrisburg dual on Friday. Competition starts at 4 p.m.
