MITCHELL – The Bobcats picked up their second win in three outings, dropping the Kernels 25-22, 28-26, 18-25, 23-25, 15-11 during Eastern South Dakota Conference volleyball action Tuesday.
Kat Charging racked up 16 kills, Johanna Miller 15 and Regan Weisbeck 13 in the win.
Brittany Birgen guided the offense with 54 set assists and Molly Steffensen paced the defense with 35 digs.
For Mitchell (3-15), Katy Sebert had 33 set assists and 21 digs and Regan Waddell recorded nine kills and 16 digs. Sarah Sebert contributed 35 digs and Amy Uher came up with 24. Megan Scheurenbrand and Mary Baltzer added eight kills apiece.
Brookings (3-12, 2-2) plays at Yankton on Thursday at 7 p.m. in an ESD match. The Bobcats defeated the Gazelles 25-12, 25-10, 23-25, 25-19 on Oct. 1 in Brookings.
The Kernels will also face Yankton on the road in their next match, but they will play on Oct. 15.
