SIOUX FALLS – East swept the Bullets in a pair of close games Thursday, winning 8-7 and 12-11 (six innings).
Brookings (7-9) plays at doubleheader at Elkton on Monday at 5 p.m.
Game 1
• Sioux Falls East 8, Brookings 7
The home team built a 7-1 advantage after four innings and then held on.
Trailing 8-2 through five, the Bullets scored once in the sixth and four times in the seventh.
Brookings’ Trenton Pederson (double) and Nathan Lease both had a pair of hits and two RBIs.
Andrew Bishop doubled twice, with Zach Struck and Aidan Stewart both adding two hits. Magnus Nelson (RBI) and Jaxton Eck contributed hits.
Starter Matt Nordmeyer gave up seven runs – three earned – on eight hits and two walks with one strikeout in four innings. Eck allowed one run on one hit and three walks with a strikeout over the final two.

• Sioux Falls East 12, Brookings 11 (6 inn.)
East scored three runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings to overcome an 11-6 deficit and complete the sweep.
Lease was 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Pederson had a three-run triple and Bishop notched a two-RBI double.
Struck, Nelson and Eck chipped in with hits.
Struck, Stewart, Lease, Nelson and Eck each scored twice.
Struck surrendered six runs – two earned – on eight hits with two strikeouts in four innings. Pederson gave up six runs – four earned – on five hits and four walks with four strikeouts in 1 2/3.
