REDFIELD – The Cossacks surrendered 36 points to the host Pheasants via forfeits in a 69-0 loss at Thursday’s Redfield Area quadrangular. The two teams combined for open weights at 126 and 130.
At 106, David Knutson lost by technical fall, 18-1 in 3 minutes, 4 seconds before Alex Stein lost by fall in 1:15 to Keaton Rohlfs at 113.
Brayden Squires lost by fall in 3:23 to Bradyn Robbins at 120.
At 145, Seth Heidenreich lost by fall in 3:26 to Mason Bey, and then, Joe Hornick dropped a 14-1 major decision to Corbin Schwartz at 152.
RJ Perry lost by fall in 1:14 to Grady Fey at 220.
No other statistics were available for the Cossacks’ other Thursday matches.
Mt. Vernon Quadrangular
MT. VERNON – Flandreau went 1-2 at Thursday’s Mt. Vernon wrestling quadrangular. The Fliers beat Marion/Freeman, 36-33, but dropped a pair of duals – 61-18, to Class A Beresford/Alcester-Hudson and 51-24 to host Mt. Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica-Stickney.
• Beresford/Alcester-Hudson 61, Flandreau 18
The Fliers won three of seven contested matches but gave up 42 points with seven open weights in the dual loss.
At 106, Spencer Upton won by fall over Flandreau’s Brayden Wiese in 3 minutes, 27 seconds to give BAH the early team lead, but Hunter Witte returned the favor at 113 with a pin of Robert Watkins to level the team score.
Witte built an 8-0 lead with two takedowns and a pair of two-point nearfalls before ending the match in 3:18 with the pin.
At 120, Tanner Christenson lost by a 7-1 decision to Jovey Christensen before Caleb Pitsenberger dropped an 11-2 major decision to Brenden Lounsbery at 126 as BAH built a 13-6 lead.
Caleb Dietrich led 2-1 over Zach Boden before ending their 132-pound match with a pin in 1:48 to pull Flandreau within 13-12 in the team scoring.
At 138, Kolby Peters trailed 12-1 in the second period before Payton Borah won by fall in 3:13 to make it 19-12.
Braden Peters ended the dual on a good note for the Fliers with a pin in 24 seconds over George Neuman at 285 pounds.

The Fliers picked up 18 points via forfeits as Pitsenberger (126), Dietrich (132) and Peters (138) accepted forfeits.
At 106, Weise lost by fall to Hadley Tobin in 50 seconds before Witte dropped a 9-3 decision to Griffin Tobin at 113.
Christenson built a 4-2 lead at 120 before winning by fall in 2:31 over Austin Hauge.
In the final contested match at 285, Sergio Morales lost by fall in 3:30 to Kellen Cassidy.
• Flandreau 36, Marion/Freeman 33
The Fliers scored 18 points via forfeit as Wiese (106), Brendan Peterson (113) and Kolby Peters (145) won by forfeit.
In contested matches, Witte won by fall over Tim Epp in 1:28 at 120 and Christenson ended the 126-pound bout with a win by fall in 3:56 over Zac Sayler.
Dietrich dropped a 6-4 decision to Ethan Ortman at 132 when the Rebel sophomore scored the final three points of the match on a penalty point and a reversal.
Braden Peters closed out the Fliers’ scoring with a pin in 31 seconds over Connor Koppman.
