TULSA, Okla. – South Dakota State sophomore Bryant Courter (field) and junior Kyle Burdick (track) both won an event Saturday and repeated as MVPs in the process as the Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Championships came to a close at the OneOK Sports Complex.

Sophomore Wyatt Gatrost and junior Krista Steele added individual victories.

Redshirt-freshman Coby Hilton, sophomore Landon Larson, freshman Daniel Clarke and sophomore Zach Zenner added a win in the 4x100-meter relay.

The Jackrabbits won 10 events – Courter accounted for a pair – in the three-day meet.

Men

Courter earned his fourth Field Championship MVP award in as many Summit League meets.

After successfully defending his long jump title with a meet-record leap Friday, he did the same in the triple jump on Saturday with a school-record mark of 51 feet, 11 1/4 inches – just off the meet record.

Courter tied for fifth in the high jump on Friday and was fourth in the event a year ago.

Indoors, he won the triple jump and placed second in both the long jump and high jump this year. He was first in the long jump, third in the triple jump and fifth in the high jump in 2017.

Burdick continued his successes by defending his title in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3 minutes, 48.55 seconds. He placed third in the 800 in 1:55.13.

Burdick was runner-up in the 10,000 on Thursday as he earned Track Championship MVP honors for the second year in a row.

The Rapid City native was the Most Outstanding Performer indoors this year after winning the mile and 3,000 and taking second in the 5,000.

Wyatt Gatrost tied for first in the 800 meters with South Dakota’s Eldon Warner with a 1:54.72 clocking.
