CASTLEWOOD – Kyle Krogman struck out five in eight innings; Todd Standish raised his season average to .636; and four other players added two hits each, as the Cubs moved to 6-0 with an 8-1 win over the Castlewood Ravens on Wednesday night.
Standish went 4-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs, while Seth Fraser, JaColby Anderson, Jeff Fish and Tanner Swets had two hits apiece.
Krogman allowed seven hits over eight frames and did not issue a walk.
Marcus Heemstra pitched the ninth and gave up a hit and struck out a batter.
Brookings hosts the Marshall A’s on Saturday at Bob Shelden Field. First pitch is set for 7:30.
