VERMILLION – JaColby Anderson went the distance on the mound as Sam McMacken and Kyle Krogman combined for seven hits and five RBIs to lead the Brookings Cubs past Vermillion in amateur baseball action on Sunday.
Anderson gave up two unearned runs on six hits and a walk while striking out eight in the complete-game win.
McMacken’s three hits included a two-run homer and an RBI-double with three runs scored while Krogman had an RBI-double, to go along with three singles, as he touched home three times.
Ty Schneider, Curt Anderson and Jearl Jession all drove in two runs as Jesson doubled.
Austin Koenig, JaColby Anderson, Curt Anderson and Jared Tschetter added base hits as the Cubs totaled 12 on the game.
Brookings, 15-2 on the season, takes on the Sioux Falls Brewers tonight at 8 p.m. at Ronken Field.
