ISU goalkeeper Dayja Schwichtenberg made five saves to earn the shutout win.
SDSU’s Maggie Smither stopped seven shots.
“We learned some valuable lessons today, that denying and defending set pieces is really important,” coach Brock Thompson told SDSU Sports Information. “On the bright side, I thought we did a really good job of chasing the game the last 20 to 30 minutes after their penalty kick.”
The Cyclones outshot the Jackrabbits 18-9, including a 9-5 advantage on goal.
