Daum on Naismith Trophy late season team

ATLANTA – South Dakota State’s Mike Daum was among 30 members of the 50th Citizen Naismith Trophy late season team, announced Wednesday by The Atlanta Tipoff Club. The award highlights the 2018 Men’s Player of the Year as selected by the organization.

The list will be cut to 10 on Feb. 28, and only those listed will be eligible for the group of four finalists released mid-March.

Fans will be a part of the voting process and can cast their ballot at naismithtrophy.com/vote between March 19-30.

The 50th Citizen Naismith Trophy will be awarded on April 1 in San Antonio, during the NCAA Men’s Final Four.

Daum has started all 28 games for the Jackrabbits this season and is averaging a double-double of 23.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per contest. The junior has reached double figures in all but one contest with nine 30-point performances.

From Kimball, Neb., Daum is a six-time Summit League Player of the Week this season and has posted a double-double in 16 games.

He is also a member of the Karl Malone Award, Oscar Robertson Trophy and Lou Henson Award mid-season watch lists.
