David Maurice Spolum was born on April 3, 1944, to “Doc” Spolum and Lillian Schmeling in Watertown. He died July 3, 2022.
He graduated from DSU in 1966. David taught art and ceramics in Rocky Ford, Colorado, for 23 years and 27 years in Flandreau.
David is survived by his wife, Kathy Spolum, his two sons, David and Matthew; and by his grandchildren, Tristan and Lilly, Tate, Cade and Gabe.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Lillian, and his brother, Richard.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Life Tabernacle in Brookings at 7 p.m. on July 6.
