BROOKINGS — Five local businesses failed alcohol compliance checks during September, according to a news release from the Brookings Police Department.

According to the release, throughout September the BPD conducted alcohol compliance checks at 41 on- and off-sale establishments in Brookings.

Five establishments had an employee sell alcohol to an underage individual and the employee was cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor:

  • Casey’s on Sixth Street
  • La Cantina
  • Applebee’s Grill
  • Buffalo Wild Wings
  • The Depot.

Thirty-six businesses passed the alcohol compliance checks:

  • Main Street Pub
  • Ray’s Corner
  • Skinner’s Pub
  • Sully’s Irish Pub
  • Schoon’s Pump N Pack South
  • El Tapitio
  • Whiskey Creek Wood Fire Grill
  • The Wild Hare
  • Boss’ Pizza
  • Walmart
  • Casey’s on Eighth Street
  • Craft Chophouse
  • Pheasant Lounge
  • Yessica’s Restaurant
  • Sake Japanese Restaurant
  • Guadalajara’s
  • O’Hares
  • Pints and Quarts
  • The 9 Bar
