BROOKINGS – The Bobcats earned a score of 139.7 to win a home gymnastics triangular on Thursday evening at Bob Jostad Gymnasium.
Yankton was second at 132.35 and Harrisburg followed with a 115.9.
Brookings eighth-grader Rachel Gannon won the all-around with a score of 35.8.
Teammates Marah Dobrenski (34.5), Lily Siemonsma (33.4) and Cydne Munson (33.05) were second through fourth, respectively.
Yankton’s Samantha Korton took fifth at 32.95, while Brookings’ Carissa Witt (32.7) ended up sixth.
Gannon was tops on the beam with a 9.05. She placed second on the floor (9.4), and third on both the vault (8.8) and bars (8.5).
The Bobcats swept the top six spots on the bars, led by Siemonsma’s winning tally of 8.8. Munson (8.55) placed second.
Yankton’s Lauren Vik won the vault with a 9.65, as Dobrenski finished second at 8.85.
The Gazelles’ Payton Steffensen placed first on the floor after earning a 9.5 to edge Gannon. Dobrenski (9.1) ended up third.
Brookings completes the home portion of its schedule with a triangular against Sioux Falls O’Gorman and Sioux Falls Lincoln on Thursday at 6 p.m.
