WATERTOWN – Arrow senior Sam Batta fired a 3-under-par 69 to earn medalist honors, while Aberdeen Central edged Aberdeen Roncalli for the team title during the Watertown Invitational at Cattail Crossing.
The Golden Eagles shot 308 and the Cavaliers finished at 312. Harrisburg and Watertown tied for third at 313, while Mitchell (322) was fifth and Sisseton (323) sixth.
Sioux Valley ended up seventh with a 325 total. Brookings (336) tied for ninth.
Roncalli’s Lucas Schaefbauer was the individual runner-up after carding an even-par 72. Central’s Jonah Dohrer (73) was third. Huron’s Nolan Wiegel and Harrisburg’s Drew Reiner tied for fourth with matching 75s.
The Cossacks’ Noah Puetz and Gunner St. John both shot 77 to finish amongst a four-way tie for seventh. Westin Trenhaile tied for 14th with a 79. Nate Buisker shot 92 to complete the team tally.
Drew Cole led the Bobcats with an 80, putting him in a tie for 20th. Trevor Berreth shot 82. Alec Rice, Landon Moe and Ryan Treiber each shot 87. Blaine Bachar added a 97.
Sioux Valley travels to the Sisseton Invitational on Thursday at 10 a.m. Brookings competes in the Eastern South Dakota Conference Tournament on Monday at 10 a.m. at Spring Creek in Harrisburg.
