Deubrook Area used a big fourth quarter to defeat Madison and Iroquois/Lake Preston fell in overtime in girls basketball action on Tuesday night.

In boys basketball, Dell Rapids defeated Flandreau on the road.

GIRLS

 Deubrook Area 65, Madison 38

WHITE – The Dolphins out-scored the Bulldogs 23-4 in the fourth quarter to pick up the win on Tuesday night.

The Dolphins took a 16-12 lead in the first quarter before going into halftime with a 30-21 lead. The Bulldogs chipped into the lead by out-scoring Deubrook 13-12 in the third quarter before the Dolphins went on their run to put the game away.

Skyla Peterson led the way for the Dolphins with 15 points and seven rebounds on the night while Brooke Koppatschek had 14 points and five rebounds. Kadence Bowne also had 12 points and nine rebounds as Deubrook shot 39.6 percent from the floor and 4-for-18 on 3-point attempts.

The Dolphins improved to 10-3 on the season and will travel to Arlington on Friday night.

• Wessington Springs 71, Iroquois/Lake Preston 65 (OT)

LAKE PRESTON – The Sharks dropped a tight game on Tuesday night, falling to the Lady Spartans in overtime.

The Sharks fell behind 13-7 in the first quarter and were down 28-26 going into halftime. The pace picked up as both teams combined for 41 points in the third quarter and went into overtime tied at 63. The Lady Spartans took over from there, out-scoring the Sharks 8-2 to pick up the win.

Adison Moore led the Sharks with 25 points on the night while Hadlee Holt had 20 points and seven rebounds. ILP pulled down 31 rebounds on the night but shot just 28 percent from the floor.

Kate Havlik led the Lady Spartans with 24 points and Kristie Mansen had 15 points to lead Wessington Springs to victory.

The Sharks fell to 5-8 on the season and will travel to Dell Rapids St. Mary on Thursday night.

BOYS

 Dell Rapids 63, Flandreau 30

FLANDREAU – The Flandreau boys had a tough time against the Quarriers on Tuesday night and a big third quarter allowed Dell Rapids to come away with the win.

Dell Rapids outscored Flandreau 14-8 in the first quarter and then led 29-15 at halftime. The Quarriers then turned things on in the third quarter as they outscored the 23-6 and that proved to be the big difference in the game.

Paul Parsley had 11 points to lead the Fliers. Luke Sheppard had 10 points. Dell Rapids was led by Brayden Pankonen and Camden Justice who each had 15 points.

Flandreau dropped to 5-7 this season and hosts Sioux Valley on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
