Jackrabbit Club sets another record

BROOKINGS – South Dakota State University Jackrabbit Club members combined to donate a record-breaking $1.684 million in annual fund support for student-athlete scholarships during the recently completed 2018-19 fiscal year.

The total raised represents an 11 percent increase over last year’s then-record total of $1.515 million. More than 2,100 Jackrabbit Club members contributed to the most recent annual fund drive, which has led to the Jackrabbit Club doubling over the last five years.

“I continue to be amazed by the generosity of our Jackrabbit Club members,” SDSU Director of Athletics Justin Sell said. “They have once again stepped to the plate and stretched their giving to provide our student-athletes with a high level of support that has translated into unprecedented success both in competition and in the classroom. We greatly appreciate their continued and increased support.”

Annual membership in the Jackrabbit Club remains the most fundamental way to support SDSU student-athletes, with the annual fund supporting over one-third of SDSU Athletics’ $4.2 million scholarship bill. Each dollar given to the Jackrabbit Club is a direct investment in Jackrabbit student-athletes.

In addition to supporting student-athlete scholarships, Jackrabbit Club members enjoy a host of great benefits throughout the athletics calendar. Benefits include priority parking and seating at Jackrabbit home games, inside access to their favorite SDSU programs, invitations to exclusive events, discounts at select local businesses and more.
