FARGO – The South Dakota State women closed out the regular season in blow out fashion Thursday night as they topped North Dakota State 85-58.

The Jackrabbits led the entire game and turned it on from the get go. SDSU outscored NDSU 14-5 in the first five minutes of the game and led 26-10 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was more of the same as the Jacks took a 47-22 lead into halftime.

The Bison would cut the lead down to 17 points with 1:32 left in the third quarter, but that would be as close as they would get. SDSU would then outscore NDSU 20-10 the final 10:32. The Jacks finished the regular season with a record of 21-9 overall and 13-3 in the Summit League.

Tagyn Larson led SDSU with 16 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Paiton Burckhard had 15 points. Rylie Cascio Jensen and Lindsey Theuninck each had 10 points. Theuninck also grabbed six rebounds. Tori Nelson had nine points and five rebounds.

Tylee Irwin had nine points, four rebounds and four steals for SDSU. Megan Bultsma had eight points, five rebounds and five blocks. The Jacks shot 51.7% from the field and were 5-16 from three.

NDSU (9-18, 6-9) was led by Sofia Zivalijevic who had 18 points and four assists. Michelle Gaislerova had nine points and Cirkeline Rimdal had seven. The Bison shot 37% from the field and were 6-15 from three. NDSU was 12-23 from the free throw line and had 14 turnovers.

With the regular season in the books, the Jacks will now turn their attention to the Summit League Tournament in Sioux Falls. SDSU will be the No. 2 seed in the tournament and will face either North Dakota or North Dakota State on March 7th. The time of the game has yet to be determined.
