Jeri Jensen, 76, of Brookings, died Saturday, Aug. 18.
Private family services will be held. Rude’s Funeral Home is assisting the family with the services.
Geraldine Frances Porter was born March 16, 1942, in South Boston, the daughter of Albert and Mary Elizabeth (Duncan) Porter.
She married John Jensen on Nov. 16, 1965, and they had a son, John Jr. who was born on Nov. 12, 1972. She owned and operated a beauty shop until 1974.
Geraldine moved with her family from Massachusetts to South Dakota in 1979, they made their home in Brookings.
Her hobbies included, bowling, bingo, crafts and taking care of all animals, especially cats. She also enjoyed collecting dolls.
Geraldine is survived by her husband, John D. Jensen Sr. of Brookings; a son, John Jensen Jr. of Brookings; two sisters, Roberta Devoy of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Paula Masterson of South Weymouth, Massachusetts.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
