Dr. Joseph D. Moriarty , 93, of Coon Rapids, Minn., originally of Brookings, died peacefully July 1, 2017, at his home in Coon Rapids.
Funeral services are being held in St. Paul and Coon Rapids, Minn. A committal service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas More Catholic Cemetery in Brookings with the assistance of Rude’s Funeral Home of Brookings.
Joseph was a World War II Navy veteran, a general surgeon, and a longtime Coon Rapids family practitioner.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary; children, Joseph F., Molly, Matthew, Peter, Michael, Teresa, Fr. Mark, and Paul, and their families; and brothers, Dr. James and Paul.
He was preceded in death by parents, John and Cecelia; brother, John W.; and sister, Cecelia Multhauf.
