Lori A. Knutsen, 58, of Volga, died May 15, 2018, at her home surrounded by loved ones after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Her funeral service will be Monday, May 21, at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church of Volga. Burial is at Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be at Eidsness Funeral Home in Volga on Sunday, May 20 from 3 – 6 p.m.
Lori Ann Knutsen, daughter of Eudale and Carol Ringgaard, was born Dec 30, 1959, in LeMars, Iowa. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1978. On Nov 17, 1978, she married her sweetheart Morris Knutsen. They raised two twin sons, Jason and Jesse. Lori worked as an accountant for Arlington Farmers Propane for two years then for Brookings Municipal Utilities for 26 years, retiring in 2009.
Lori will be remembered for her unconditional love she had for her family and friends. She cherished her boys and grandchildren and through her own actions taught them the importance of a loving supportive family.
Her interests included camping, gardening, crafts and essential oils. Lori spent over 16 years cheering and supporting her boys through the Sioux Valley wrestling club and then many more years cheering on her grandchildren in various activities.
She is survived by her husband Morris, daughter Heather (Chris) Pederson; sons Jason (Ginger), Jesse (Shari), eight grandchildren; parents Carol and Eudale Ringgaard; sister Kim (Tony) Albro, brothers Terry (Carolyne), Brad (special friend Leah), and numerous nephews and nieces.
