Maureen Ellen Pittenger Moe, 78,of Salem, died Friday, March 31, 2017 at Avera Heart Hospital. 

Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem. Visitation will begin one hour prior. 

Maureen Pittenger was born on Jan. 11, 1939, to Kenneth and Alease (Larson) Pittenger near Brookings. 

She grew up in the rural Brookings area and graduated from Volga High School. She married Ronald Moe on Dec. 8, 1993, and farmed in the Carthage area until retiring in 2004 to Salem. Maureen loved quilting, crafting, crocheting, and gardening. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Maureen is survived by: her husband, Ronald of Salem; daughters, Debra Ishmael of Brookings, Christina (Dale) Shively of Nevada, Geraldine Mathews of Brookings, Michelle Blake of Sioux Falls; her son, Scott (Jenny) Bridges of Sioux Falls; stepson Rory Moe of Des Moines, Iowa; stepdaughters, Renee (Roger) Laible of Howard, Rochelle (Kenny) Carlson of Salem, and Ronda (Chad) Gilbertson of Salem; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Liane (Harvey) Cunningham of Brookings; brothers, Ronald Pittenger of Sioux Falls, and Lawrence (Nancy) Pittenger of Sherman.
