SIOUX FALLS – South Dakota State’s Mitch Raihle was named Summit League Men's Diver of the Year, announced Thursday afternoon by the league office.
The senior is the first Jackrabbit to earn the award on either the men's or women's side.
Raihle capped an outstanding season by earning gold for the second straight year in the men's 3-meter dive at the 2020 Summit League Championships and placing second in the 1-meter. That performance earned him Men's Diving Championship MVP for having led all men's divers in point total with 37.
Raihle was also named All-Summit League for the third time in his career for his success at conference. On Jan. 28, he earned Male Diver of the Week honors from the league after having won both the 1-meter and 3-meter in a Jan. 25 dual meet versus South Dakota.
The Spring Lake Park, Minn. native ended his career at the NCAA Zones Diving Championships, qualifying for the event for his second time. Over the 2019-20 season, Raihle won the 3-meter dive four times and the 1-meter three times.
