BROOKINGS – The State Varsity Champion Brookings Rangers will head to Omaha, Nebraska, to compete in the national tournament on Wednesday with a police escort through town. The bus will leave Larson Ice Center at 4 p.m., heading down 32nd Avenue to Sixth Street to 22nd Avenue then to the Elkton exit.
Area residents can give them a true Ranger send-off by lining the route with signs and noise makers.
The Rangers will start national tournament action at 12:15 p.m. Thursday vs. Lake Central Blue Varsity. Then they will play at 10 a.m. Friday vs. New Trier and at 1 p.m. Saturday vs. Edwardsville. All games can be viewed live on Hockey TV. Cubby’s will also be carrying the games.
