BROOKINGS – The Rangers beat Oahe 13-0 on Sunday and 12-1 on Saturday to close out the South Dakota Amateur Hockey Association girls’ regular season in third place with a 14-7 record.

Rangers take two from Capitals

BROOKINGS – The Rangers beat Oahe 13-0 on Sunday and 12-1 on Saturday to close out the South Dakota Amateur Hockey Association girls’ regular season in third place with a 14-7 record.

The state tournament is Friday through Sunday in Huron

Sunday

 Brookings 13, Oahe 0

Jadyn Peterson led the charge with two goals and four assists.

Jadyn Runge made six saves to earn the shutout win.

The Rangers led 3-0 after a period and 9-0 through two.

Bethany Rennich and Carlie Kruse added two goals and two assists apiece. Eli Hegdahl totaled a goal and three assists, while Montana Myer recorded a pair of goals and an assist.

McKenna Geraets, Kiran Vugteveen and Savannah Barber each contributed a goal and an assist.

Janaya Kuehl had Brookings’ other goal. Brooklyn Roberts, Shaylea Peterson and Jenna Schulte were each credited with an assist.

Capitals goalie Mariah Nelson stopped 34 shots.

Saturday

 Brookings 12, Oahe 1

Elli Hegdahl netted a hat trick while adding an assist for the Rangers.

Bethany Rennich finished with two goals and a pair of assists.

The Rangers were ahead 4-0 after a period and 7-1 through two.

Savannah Barber dished out three assists. Emma Rice and Jadyn Peterson both had a goal and two assists. Carlie Kruse scored twice. Kiran Vugteveen tallied a goal and an assist.

McKenna Geraets and Brooklyn Roberts both lit the lamp. Montana Myer, Addison Ramlo and Janaya Kuehl chipped in with one assist apiece.

Jadyn Runge earned the win between the pipes, making 13 saves.

The Capitals’ Amy Gilkerson scored on an assist from Jenna Keyser. Mariah Nelson stopped 33 shots.
