His father taught him the love of hunting and fishing and it became his life-long passion. Ron loved hunting especially that was when he was in his glory. When Ron wasn’t doing those activities, he loved going for rides in the country and meeting up with his friends out at the river for gab sessions.
When it was time for him to work, he was serious about that too. He worked at USD and SDSU as a custodian. He was also a produce manager at Fareway in Omaha. For a while, he played bartender at the Eagles in Vermillion and at Toby’s in Meckling.
Ron had so many friends and if anyone needed his help, he was glad to give it. He very much valued them all.
Ron’s family was of the utmost importance, he had two daughters from a previous marriage and two step-children from his current marriage.
He is survived by his wife, Robin, his sister, Linda (Bob) Raabe, his daughters, Brandi Lamster, and Nicole (Ryan) Morris; his two step-children, Amber (Zenon) Muecke and Skeeter (Alayna) Muecke ; six grandchildren, Alex, Gabe, Miriam, Julian, Julius, and Norah; his niece, Shawnda (John) Raabe, and nephew, shad Raabe.
