SDSU Men’s Golf finishes 13th at Hawkeye Invitational

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The South Dakota State men’s golf team finished the Hawkeye Invitational in 13th place.

The Jackrabbits shot an 877 (289-285-303) at the par-71, 6,884-yard Finkbine Golf Course.

Iowa finished first among the 13-team field, shooting an 809. Hawkeyes Matthew Walker (67-66-66) and Alex Schaake (63-72-64) tied for first, shooting a 199 in the 74-player field at 14-under.

Jacob Otta finished tied for 20th, firing a 211 (65-72-74) for a 2-under. Jared Nicolls finished tied for 54th, shooting a 221 (76-68-77) at 8-over.

Jones Comerford (73-78-75) and Alejandro Perazzo (75-74-77) finished tied for 66th at a 13-over 226.

Jonah Dohrer placed 68th, shooting a 227 (77-71-79) at 14-over. Harry Duggan finished 73rd as an individual, shooting a 235 (80-79-76).

Up Next

The men will head to Newton, Kan., April 28-30, for the Summit League Championship.
