BROOKINGS – Online College Plan has named South Dakota State University one of the nation’s Top 100 Best Online Colleges. South Dakota State is No. 36 in the rankings.

“SDSU has worked hard to ensure students have a positive and successful experience in their online programs and courses. We are pleased to be recognized for this hard work,” said Lindsey Hamlin, director of Continuing and Distance Education.

State offers eight undergraduate, 13 graduate and nine certificate programs completely online. More than 7,000 students have taken at least one online class through SDSU, and the university even offers a High School Dual Credit Program in which high school students can take distance education classes for both college and high school credit.

Online College Plan examined student rankings for a number of online colleges offering online degree programs to ensure that each school offers an education that its students are proud to have. Other criteria, including technology used for course delivery, flexibility of classes, average cost of attendance and academic offerings were analyzed to determine the placement of each college and university in this ranking of the best online colleges.
