CORAL GABLES, Fla.-South Dakota State’s Teresa Toscano turned in her best performance of the season as the Jackrabbits finished the Hurricane Invitational Wednesday.
Toscano shot a season-best three-round 223 (73-76-74) to tie for a season-high 17th in the 75-player field. The sophomore collected six birdies in the tournament and beat two of the top 60 players in the NCAA (No. 20 & No. 60).
The Jackrabbits finished 13th (306-314-310=930) on the par-72, 6,150-yard Biltmore Golf Course. No. 24 Miami won the 13-team tournament, shooting an 866. Virginia Tech’s Elizabeth Bose was medalist, firing a 210 (71-69-70).
Cassidy Laidlaw (75-77-83) and Natcha Srimaneerungroj (79-80-76) tied for 59th with 235s.
Sydney Bormann tied for 62nd (79-81-77=237) and Magda Kruger finished 74th (86-88-85=259).
Playing as an individual, Brooke Piearson finished 73rd (92-81-83=256).
