ELMHURST, Ill. – After helping to lead the South Dakota State men's golf team to the 2017 Summit League Championship title and the NCAA Stanford Regional, senior Grant Smith was named to the Summit League All-Academic Team for a second consecutive year.
A mathematics major with a 3.66 GPA, Smith led the Jackrabbits with a 74.36 stroke average that also ranked 10th in the Summit League and in a single season at SDSU.
Smith won SDSU's first individual Summit League golf title and was named the championship MVP and to the all-tournament team.
Smith finished his career at SDSU ranked third in scoring average (74.36), first in round (135) and third in top-five (five), top-10 (nine) and top-25 (20) finishes.
