Bormann closed with a 77 for a 10-over-par 226 total.

NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. – South Dakota State sophomore Sydney Bormann finished in a career-best fifth place as the UNO Invitational concluded Saturday at ArborLinks.
Bormann closed with a 77 for a 10-over-par 226 total.
North Dakota State’s Natalie Roth closed strong to win by seven strokes. Her final-round 2-under 70 gave her a 2-under 214 total.
Nebraska’s Kate Smith (75) was second at 221, NDSU’s Taylor McCorkle (75) took third at 223 and Nebraska’s Audrey Judd (77) finished fourth with a 225 total.
Also for the Jackrabbits, Cassidy Laidlaw (77) tied for 13th at 230 and Natcha Srimaneerungroj (76) tied for 19th at 232. Brookings native and SDSU freshman Brooke Piearson closed with an 82 and tied for 51st at 250 in her collegiate debut.
All four Jackrabbits were competing as individuals.
The Bison (298) rallied to win the team title with an 892 total and the Cornhuskers (309) were second at 899.
South Dakota State competes in the MSU Payne Stewart Memorial on Sept. 11-12 in Springfield, Mo.
