Oct. 19, 2013

South Dakota 38, No. 11 UNI 31 (2OT)

South Dakota trailed 28-7 in the third but rallied to win. It was the first road league win and win over a ranked team for USD as a league member. QB Kevin Earl had the game-winning TD and also completed 25 of 44 passes for three TDs.

Oct. 20, 2018

UNI 24, No. 3 South Dakota State 9

UNI led third-ranked South Dakota State just 14-9 with under six minutes to go but the Panthers struck twice late to upend the Jackrabbits. Xavior Williams’ 30-yard interception return with :23 left turned an eight-point lead into a 24-9 result. His play earned ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 mention that day.

Oct. 21, 1989

With three weeks remaining in the season, Missouri State’s 31-25 win at Southern Illinois clinched MSU’s first-ever conference title. Led by QB DeAndre Smith, the Bears would advance to the NCAA second round and finish 10-3.

Oct. 21, 2006

Indiana State 28, Missouri State 22

Indiana State trailed just once in the game, and for only 1:16, as ISU won 28-22 and snapped a 19-game losing streak– which was a league record at the time.

Illinois State 38, No. 13 UNI 3

A week after defeating top-ranked Southern Illinois, ISU knocked off a top-25 team for a second-straight week. Laurent Robinson hauled in 10 catches for 243 yards to lead the Redbirds.

Oct. 24, 1992

UNI 27, Idaho 26

UNI won, 27-26, in the first-ever meeting between the No. 1 and No. 2-ranked NCAA FCS teams. The UNI-Dome was sold out for only the second time in its history.

South Dakota State 24, No. 6 UNI 14

SDSU upended No. 6 UNI in Brookings to help solidify its first-ever FCS playoff berth. At the time, the sixth-ranked Panthers were the highest-ranked team beaten by South Dakota State in its history.

Indiana State 17, Western Illinois 14

ISU snapped a 33-game losing streak with a three-point win vs Western, a springboard for the next three seasons, which saw ISU post winning seasons in 2010, 2011, and 2012.  Ryan Roberts scored the game-winner with 4:12 remaining to cap a 160-yard 2-score day for the QB.

Southern Illinois 38, Youngstown State 31

Southern won this one in overtime, but the heroics came in the fourth quarter as SIU rallied from 11 points down with just 5:10 remaining. SIU’s Austin Johnson forced overtime after making an 18-yard field goal with :06 left.
