SANTA ANA, Calif. – South Dakota State women’s golfer Teresa Toscano is tied for 11th after two rounds of the UC Irvine Invitational, which began Monday at the 6,072-yard, par-72 Santa Ana Country Club.
The junior carded rounds of 73 and 70 for a 36-hole total of 1-under-par 143. She collected eight birdies, including three in a row on the fourth, fifth and sixth holes in the second round.
Sydney Bormann is even (72-72—144) and is tied for 13th. She made seven birdies.
Lani Potter (73-73—146) is tied for 19th, Cassidy Laidlaw (72-76—148) tied for 28th and Mia Seeman (76-73—149) tied for 34th.
The Jackrabbits currently sit in fifth, carding rounds of 290 and 288 for a 2-over 578 total.
Cal Poly’s Caroline Cantlay leads the 71-player field at 6-under 138 (68-70). Teammate Vanessa Wang (71-68), California Baptist’s Erica Wang (72-67) and San Diego State’s Sara Kjellker (66-73), who is competing as an individual, are tied for second with 5-under 139 totals.
The Mustangs top the 10-team leaderboard at 14-under 562 (282-280). California Baptist is second at 1-under 575 (293-282).
