Zachery Dayton Matthews, 28, of Brookings and formerly of Lake Preston, died Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at the Brookings ER.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Lake Preston Cemetery. Eidsness Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Zachery was born on Aug. 13, 1992, to Stephen and Susan (Hanson) Matthews in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He lived in Hope Mills, North Carolina, until 2001. At which time, his family moved to Lake Preston, Zachery graduated from Lake Preston High School in 2011.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Susan (Randy) Nesseim of Lake Preston; brothers, Chris (Christina) Jones, Joshua (Laura) Jones; step-brothers, Ryan Nesseim, Ronnie Nesseim; step-sister, Bobbie (Brian) Lingbeck; nieces and nephews, Jaycee, Toren, Alliyah, Jaxon, Beynon, Brynnlee, Brenton, Bryler and Lane.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Stephen Matthews.
