BROOKINGS – More than $19,000 was raised at the Brookings Health System Foundation‘s 13th annual “Aiming to Inspire Health” fundraiser on Aug. 11 at Brookings Gun Club, rural Brookings, presented by First Bank & Trust.
Proceeds will support local health care through Brookings Health System Foundation, including facility, equipment and technology upgrades; health and wellness education for the community and employees; and assistance for patients and their families.
Twenty-four teams participated at this year’s clay target tournament. Winners from the event include:
• First-place adult team – 153; Sanford Health Brookings Clinic: Sam Brandenburger, Joe Hornick, Thomas Smith and Emily Keefer
• First-place adult individual – 42; Hunter Serforss
• Second-place adult individual – 41; Sam Brandenburger
• First-place youth team – 133; Youth Team A – Midwest Fresh: Chris Hornick, Trevor Schultz, Jackson Sebring and Hunter Steinhaus
• First-place youth individual – 37; Jackson Sebring
• Second-place youth individual – 36; Chris Hornick
• Drawing, team – Larson Manufacturing
• Drawing, individual – Chad Taecker
• Ghost clay drawing – Anthony Gilmore
• Lowest individual score – Jesse Hopper
• Early bird drawing – Dacotah Bank
The grand-prize winner of the “Aiming to Inspire Health” raffle sponsored by Runnings of Brookings was Louise Coull. The second-prize winner was Kurt Bassett. They won a Benelli Super Black Eagle 3, 12-gauge hunting shotgun and a YETI Hopper cooler filled with hunting supplies.
