BROOKINGS – Sioux Falls Lincoln swept the team titles in the Ruth Marske Invitational on Saturday at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
The meet featured more than 1,700 competitors.
Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Iowa’s Brady Wall and the Patriots’ Jasmyne Cooper were named the outstanding athletes.
Wall won four events, breaking the meet record in each.
He prevailed in both the 100-meter (11.07 seconds) and 200-meter (22.6 seconds) dashes, and anchored the victorious 4x100-meter (44.56) and 4x200-meter (1:32.43) relay teams.
Cooper was tops in the 200 (26.58) and 400 (58.7).
In the girls’ team standings, Lincoln totaled 111 points. Brandon Valley (72) was second and Watertown (68.5) third.
Brookings ended up with 13 team points.
Madison Gray led the Bobcats with a second-place showing in the 400, clocking a time of 1:00.94.
Kelsey Phelps took fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 31 feet, 7 inches.
Sydney Maher added an eighth-place finish in the 100 in 13.32 seconds.
For the boys, the Patriots won with 96.5 team points, followed by the Warriors (82) in second and the Arrows (72) in third.
