Bobcats finish 10th at Class AA State Meet

The Brookings Bobcats finished in 10th place as the SDHSAA Class AA Girls State Golf Tournament concluded at the Hillcrest Country Club on Tuesday morning.

Bobcats finish 10th at Class AA State Meet

Brookings senior Delilah Fuls finished in 12th place on the final day of the State Tournament.

YANKTON — The Brookings Bobcats finished in 10th place as the SDHSAA Class AA Girls State Golf Tournament concluded at the Hillcrest Country Club on Tuesday morning.

The Bobcats improved on their team score of 405 on Monday and shot 388 for a two-day total of 793.

Delilah Fuls finished tied for 12th in the tournament, following her first-round score of 84 with a score of 85 on Tuesday. Her total score of 169 tied with Yankton’s Ella Homstad.

Miyah Foerster finished tied for 34th shooting a 93 on Tuesday after shooting a 95 in the first round for a tournament total of 188.

Aubrey Knutzen shot a 107 on Tuesday after shooting a 110 in the first round and finished in 65th place with a total score of 217. Josie Bertrand shot a 105 on Tuesday after shooting a 116 on Monday and had a total score of 221 and Kamryn Streich shot a 105 after shooting a 120 on Monday to finish tied for 69th place with a total score of 225.

Watertown finished in first place with a total score of 649, beating out Mitchell by three strokes for the state title. Aberdeen Central finished in third place with a total score of 664, O’Gorman finished fourth with a score of 690 and Sioux Falls Lincoln finished fifth with a team score of 716.

Allison Meyerink won the individual title backing up a first-round score of 75 with a round of 74 for a tournament total of 149. Meyerink beat out Aberdeen Central’s Olivia Braun, who shot a 78 on Tuesday for a tournament score of 150.

Mitchell’s Maddie Childs and O’Gorman’s Erin Hurd tied for third place with a team score of 156 while Watertown teammates Shelby Person and Gabi Olson tied for fifth place with a score of 161.
