BROOKINGS — The South Dakota State Wrestling program announced its schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season on Wednesday.

SDSU will compete against Augustana on Nov. 15 marking the team’s first home meet in the new First Bank and Trust Arena. After that, the Jackrabbits will host the Warren Williamson Daktronics Invitational on Nov. 17.

The first two months of competition will be a mix of open tournaments and dual competition. For tournament action, on Nov. 9 the Jackrabbits will open their season by competing in the Bison Open hosted by North Dakota State. They will also return to the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Dec. 6-7 and the Soldier Salute on Dec. 29-30.

The Jackrabbits will compete in several duals in November and December as well. After the Augustana dual the next match for the Jackrabbits will be on the road against Northern Iowa (Nov. 24). The team will then host Minnesota at home on Dec. 1. To finish out December, the Jackrabbits will compete in a quad dual at Rider University against Maryland, Pittsburgh, and Rider on Dec. 20. Finally, the team will go up against Drexel on the road on Dec. 21.

SDSU will compete at the NWCA National Duals on Jan. 10-11 for their last competition before opening up the Big 12 conference schedule.

The Jackrabbits will open their Big 12 schedule on the road against California Baptist on Jan. 16 and then travel to take on Air Force on Jan. 18.

South Dakota State will have its first Big 12 dual meet in First Bank and Trust Arena on Jan. 31 against Utah Valley, followed by home meets against Wyoming (Feb. 1) and Northern Colorado (Feb. 7).

The Jackrabbits will finish their season with a home match against Iowa State on Feb. 14 and then travel to take on North Dakota State on Feb. 23 in the Battle for the Border Bell.

SDSU then travels to Tulsa, Okla., to compete in the Big 12 Championships at the BOK Center on March 8-9. The 2025 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships are slated for March 20-22 in Philadelphia, Penn.

The Jackrabbits are coming off a highly successful season. They placed third at the Big 12 Championships and 13th at the NCAA Championships. They also had two Big 12 Champions, eight NCAA Qualifiers, and a program record four All-Americans.
