SALEM — The Sioux Valley Cossacks took home third place in the Big East Conference Tournament by beating the Garretson Blue Dragons 3-1 in four sets on Saturday afternoon.
The Cossacks won the first set 25-20 and the second set 25-12. Garretson won the third set 25-20 before the Cossacks edged out the Blue Dragons 26-24 to clinch the match in the fourth set.
Kaedyn Sapp led the way for Sioux Valley with 12 kills, 10 digs and two aces. Adison Renkly had 10 kills, 12 digs and two aces.
Caitlin Russell had 19 digs and Emma Gorvin had 10 digs.
Sunny Hesby had 18 assists and Machaela Gerasch had 14 assists.
The Cossacks improved to 8-2 on the year and will travel to De Smet for a match beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
