Elkton Lake Benton and Flandreau remained undefeated while Oldham-Ramona/Rutland earned a win as part of the area high school football slate on Friday night.

Elkton-Lake Benton 42, De Smet 0

DE SMET — The Elks jumped out to an early lead, scoring 35 of their 42 points in the first half to shutout De Smet on Friday night.

ELB scored 21 points in the first quarter and 14 points in the second quarter before adding a touchdown in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Colt Beck led the way through the air, completing 7-of-9 passes for 80 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Beck also ran six times for 49 yards.

Tanner Stein led the ground game for the Elks with 146 yards and four touchdowns on five carries and had three catches for 42 yards and a touchdown. Blake De Vries also had a big game with nine carries for 129 yards and a touchdown.

Tanner Drietz had two carries for 13 yards and two catches for 21 yards. Savion Stephens had an 11-yard reception and Elliott Erickson had a catch for six yards.

Stein had 11 tackles on defense including three tackles for loss. De Vries had 10 tackles while Erickson and Quintin Westley had eight tackles each made eight tackles.

Teigan Krog had six tackles including a pair of sacks and Caleb Seiler had five tackles.

Dreitz had four tackles and an interception. De Vries also recovered a fumble.

The Elks improved to 4-0 with the win and will host Great Plains Lutheran for homecoming at 7 p.m. this Friday.

Flandreau 47, Sisseton 0

FLANDREAU — Flandreau scored 40 points in the first half to pick up a decisive win over the Redmen for homecoming on Friday night.

“Our boys played very well tonight,” Flandreau head coach Josh Edlund said. “Our focus as a team this week in practice was perfecting our craft. We didn’t add much or change much, we were just focused on playing cleaner football and we were able to accomplish that.”

The Fliers scored 21 points in the first quarter and 19 points in the second quarter. By adding seven points in the third, Flandreau was able to provide their reserves with some experience in the late stages of the game.

Alex Poitra had four touchdowns for the Fliers adding 47 yards on the ground and 34 yards through the air. Cam Flute had 67 rushing yards and a touchdown on five carries and Luke Sheppard caught a pair of passes for 69 yards and a touchdown.

Paul Parsley completed 5-of-8 passes for 113 yards and three touchdowns at quarterback.

Justin Klein led the Flier defense with five solo tackles and two assists. Guage Ballard had a solo tackle, two assists and a sack and Micah Otto returned an interception for a touchdown and had a fumble recovery.

The Fliers improved to 4-0 on the season and will travel to McCook Central/Montrose with a 7 p.m. kickoff on Friday.

Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 24, Irene-Wakonda 14

IRENE — Cooper Meager finished with 16 carries for 96 yards and two touchdowns as the Raiders picked up their third straight win over Irene-Wakonda on Friday night.

I-W got on the board first with a 15-yard pass from Cain Healy to Jens Hansen in the first quarter but Merager scored on a 10-yard touchdown run in the second quarter before Brock Eppe’s successful two-point conversion gave the Raiders an 8-6 lead at halftime.

ORR extended its lead on a three-yard touchdown run by Brennon Bickett and an Eppe two-point conversion put the Raiders up 16-6 at the end of the third quarter.

Healy threw his second touchdown of the game on a 21-yard pass to Jens Hansen at the beginning of the fourth quarter and Hansen ran the ball in on the two-point conversion to close the lead to 16-14. But Merager scored on a five-yard touchdown run and used Eppe’s third two-point conversion of the game to secure the victory.

Merager finished with 16 carries for 96 yards and two touchdowns. Eppe had 13 carries for 75 yards. Bickett had three carries for 11 yards and a touchdown. Rylen Olson had three carries for seven yards. Boyd Pooler had three carries for five yards.

Eppe had five tackles in the win. Brayden Hansen had 4.5 tackles. Brodie Albertson had three tackles. Jace Schiernbeck had two tackles. Merager had 1.5 tackles with an interception. Pooler had a tackle and two interceptions.

After improving to 3-1 on the year, the Raiders will travel to Arlington with a 7 p.m. kickoff on Friday.
