BROOKINGS – Brookings TaeKwonDo hosted its ninth Annual Brookings TaeKwonDo Fall Classic Tournament this past weekend on Nov. 12 in Brookings and the tournament was an amazing success.
There were nearly 150 competitors from 25 Schools from all around the Midwest including Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota, that came to Brookings to compete.
The Tournament had competition ranging from beginner athletes to World Class Black Belts including National Team Athletes. There were four featured events: Traditional Forms or Patterns Division, Team Forms or Patterns Division, Weapons Division and Sport Sparring Division. These divisions were bracketed by age & weight with Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Black Belt Levels.
This Fall tournament was a great turnout despite having a two-year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic.
The entire event showcased tremendous talent and incredible sportsmanship. The 2022 Brookings TaeKwonDo Fall Classic Tournament was hosted by Master Mark & Kelli Anawski of Brookings TaeKwonDo, which is located at 919 Main Avenue S. in Brookings.
The next tournament to be hosted in Brookings will be the 10th Annual Brookings TaeKwonDo Open Championships on April 15, 2023 at the Mickelson Middle School. For more information on tournaments or training, please go to www.BrookingsTaeKwonDo.com.
