Would you like to know more about Christian Nationalism, the subject of several “Speakout” columns in the Brookings Register?
The First United Methodist Church, 625 Fifth St., invites all interested parties to a screening of “Bad Faith” on Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. in the main sanctuary. The 90-minute film will be followed by an open discussion which will be led by Rev. Pete Grassow, Rev. Larry Ort, and Robert Burns.
"Bad Faith: Christian Nationalism’s Unholy War on Democracy" is a documentary which explores the history behind the rise of Christian Nationalism in the United States, and the dire implications it could have if those who espouse it succeed in their goals of imposing their version of biblical law on all Americans.
The film won numerous awards and American documentarian Ken Burns refers to it as “A great and powerful and timely film.”
All are welcome. There is no cost, but a small donation would help to defer the cost of the film.
If anyone would like, group showings can be arranged.
