BROOKINGS – For the third year in a row, Tim Fryer and Trevor Hinderaker finished 1-2 in the Longest Day 10K at Fishback Soccer Complex.
Fryer, 40, of Hendricks, Minnesota, ran the 6.2-mile course in 36 minutes, 40 seconds – by far the fastest of his three victories.
Hinderaker, 22, of Astoria, also improved upon his time, finishing in 38:05.
The women’s division was won by Lisa Kolda, 41, of Sioux Falls. She finished seventh overall with a time of 46:15.
Saturday’s race was held at 8 a.m., a switch from past years, when it was held in the evening, usually at the close of a hot, humid day.
The Prairie Striders event attracted 29 individual runners plus four relay teams.
