I am deeply concerned about the negative, inaccurate advertising regarding candidate Doug Post. I served with Doug during his previous term in the state Legislature and know him to be a strong supporter of SDSU and the entire Brookings community.
A review of Doug’s actual voting record shows that he supported all appropriations bills for SDSU while he was in the Legislature including cosponsoring HB1100, for the POET Bioproducts Institute facility. In addition, he sponsored an amendment to HB1227, a bill I sponsored, doubling the funding for the vet science 2+2 program.
Last year Doug testified before House Appropriations to help secure $7 million in funding for the Dairy Department to replace obsolete, and now damaged, facilities to create a state-of-the-art teaching and research facility for the fastest growing agriculture sector in the state.
The negative ads I have seen are false and intended to mislead voters. Doug is a proud alumnus of SDSU, and his record of support for SDSU speaks for itself. I urge voters to do their research and vote for the integrity Doug Post represents.
