The Brookings girls bowling team remained undefeated and the boys team fell in a tight matchup as the Bobcats hosted Sioux Falls Roosevelt at The Lanes in Brookings on Friday afternoon.

High school bowling: Brookings girls team remains undefeated

The Brookings girls bowling team remained undefeated and the boys team fell in a tight matchup as the Bobcats hosted Sioux Falls Roosevelt at The Lanes in Brookings on Friday afternoon.

The girls team improved to a perfect 11-0 with the win while the boys team dropped to 5-6 on the season. The Bobcats will be in action again on Friday when they host McCook Central/Montrose at The Lanes.

GIRLS

 Brookings 45, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 5

The Bobcats showed off their depth against Rough Riders with seven bowlers recording a series score over 500.

Brooklyn Hieb had the top score for the Bobcats as she rolled a series score of 583 and a high score of 202 in Game 2. Alexis Hieb rolled a series score of 579 fueled by a score of 234 in Game 1.

Peyton McBride had a series score of 541 and a high score of 206, Catelyn Vernarsky had a series score of 524 and a high score of 192, Kacee Rhody had a series score of 514 and a high score of 184, Teagen Bremmon had a series score of 513 with a high score of 183 and Maddey Austreim had a series score of 507 with a high score of 205.

BOYS

 Sioux Falls Roosevelt 26, Brookings 24

The Bobcats were led by Adrian Howard, who got better as the night went on. Howard rolled a score of 167 in Game 1, a score of 221 in Game 2 and a high score of 249 in Game 3 for a series score of 637.

The Bobcats also got a strong performance from Gavan Stewart, who rolled a series score of 586 with a high score of 209 in Game 3.

Dylan Scubelek had a series score of 518 and a high score of 193 and Gage Zarecky had a series score of 453 with a high score of 157.
