ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State's Zach Koosman and Monique Mack were honored by the Summit League as Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, announced Tuesday by the league office.
The two Jackrabbit high jumpers won their events at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays last week and set personal bests.
Koosman, a senior from Tea, won the title with a height of 7 feet, .25 inches to move into third on SDSU's all-time record list. His jump ranks atop the Summit League so far this season, and is the 35th best height nationwide.
Koosman was a co-selection, sharing the honors with North Dakota State's Alex Renner.
Mack, a senior from Pringle, cleared 5-10 and took over the No. 2 spot in the Jackrabbit history books. She is now second in the conference in the high jump and 38th in the NCAA.
The Summit League Championships are Thursday through Saturday in Fargo, N.D.
