BROOKINGS – Brandon Valley pulled away in the third quarter during a 60-46 defeat of the Bobcats in a girls’ basketball matchup Friday night at Bob Jostad Gymnasium.
The Lynx were up 15-7 after a quarter and 24-23 at halftime. They outscored Brookings 21-11 in the third to move ahead 45-34.
India Bradfield had 15 points, seven rebounds and seven of the team’s 19 steals. Hilary Behrens scored 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting and added five steals.
The Bobcats had 28 turnovers. They shot 41.3 percent (19-of-46) from the field.
Ainsley Shelsta posted a double-double of 17 points and 19 rebounds.
Landree Wilson added 18 points and seven boards.
Brookings (0-6) plays its next five games on the road, beginning with a 7 p.m. matchup at Huron on Tuesday.
The Bobcat boys (1-5) fell 54-30 at Brandon Valley (5-2) on Friday. Brookings hosts Huron on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
