ELMHURST, Ill. – With a defeat of a ranked opponent and a come-from-behind win last week at the Puerto Rico Clasico in Ft. Laurderdale, Fla., South Dakota State’s Madison Guebert and Macy Miller were honored for their outstanding play Monday.
Guebert picked up the second Summit League Player of the Week honor of her career, while Miller was named the CollegeInsider Summit League Mid-Major Player of the Week for the second time this season and for the third time in her career.
Guebert averaged 20 points, three assists and 1.5 steals in wins over No. 23 North Carolina State and Charlotte.
The junior from Apple Valley, Minn., shot 42.9 percent (12-of-28) from the field, 42.1 percent (8-of-19) from 3-point range and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.
Guebert sank a trey at the buzzer to beat the 49ers.
Miller averaged 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists for the two games. The junior from Mitchell shot 50 percent (12-of-24) from the floor, 60 percent (6-of-10) from long range and 73.3 percent (11-of-15) at the foul line.
