BROOKINGS – Two-time Missouri state placewinner Zane Shaddox signed a National Letter of Intent Wednesday, indicating he will enroll at South Dakota State University in the fall and compete for the Jackrabbit wrestling program.

A two-sport standout at Liberty High School in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area, Shaddox capped his prep wrestling career with a sixth-place finish in the heavyweight division at the 2017 Class 4 state tournament. He completed his senior season with a 49-3 record. Shaddox added a fifth-place finish as a sophomore in 2015, posting a 38-13 mark.

Shaddox also has competed at the club level in various USA Wrestling events, including advancing to the quarterfinals of the 2017 Junior/Cadets Folkstyle Nationals.

In addition to wrestling, Shaddox was honored on All-State football teams as an offensive lineman.
