WATERTOWN – Nicole Steen tied for 29th and the Bobcats finished eighth in the team standings at the Watertown Invitational on Monday at Cattail Crossing.
Sioux Falls O’Gorman put four golfers in the top seven while winning the team title with a 306. Aberdeen Central (328) was second and Pierre (339) third.
Brookings carded a team score of 387 in eighth.
The Lady Knights’ Carly Kunkel carded a 1-under-par 71 to earn medalist honors. She made five birdies, two bogeys and a double-bogey.
Teammate Jenna Sutcliffe was second at 76.
Harrisburg’s Reese Jansa (77) and Pierre’s Halle Gronlund (78) were third and fourth, respectively. OG’s Maddie Otta and Douglas’ Molly Schwartz tied for fifth at 79. Shannon McCormick rounded out the Lady Knights’ team tally with an 80, putting her in a tie for seventh.
Steen carded a 90 to pace the Bobcats, as she finished in a tie for 29th.
Ashton Austreim tied for 41st with a 95. Delilah Fuls shot 99 and ended up in a tie for 49th. Janaya Kuehl tied for 55th at 103 to complete the team score.
Also for Brookings, Morgan Herold (128) was 69th and Makenna Kepner (159) 75th.
The Eastern South Dakota Conference Girls’ Golf Tournament is Thursday at 10 a.m. at Broadland Creek in Huron.
