BROOKINGS COUNTY — There’s a buzz about town after someone with a taste for sweet, sweet honey gave in to the devil on their shoulder and swiped a beehive from a residence south of Aurora on Saturday night.
The theft, which was reported at 9:27 a.m. Sunday, occurred on 476th Avenue near 216th Street, according to a news release from the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
One hive, valued at an estimated $500, was taken, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring wrote in the release, adding that the hive weighs approximately 200 pounds.
